What is UWEPO

UWEPO (Swahili for presence) is your invitation to arrive as you are, pause, and reset.

In a world that demands constant motion, Wanjiru—founder and sound bath facilitator of UWEPO creates spaces for you to slow down and simply be. Through intentional sound, you shift from doing to receiving— releasing stress, softening tension, and discovering the calm that’s within you.

Each UWEPO experience is thoughtfully designed, using sound as a bridge back to your most grounded, regulated, and fully present self.

WHO THIS IS FOR

Clients often share that they’ve never dropped into relaxation so quickly, or that they finally accessed stillness in a time when the world feels chaotic. They leave feeling more regulated, more connected to themselves, and with greater capacity for all that life asks of them.

The UWEPO Experience

Immerse Yourself in Healing Sound

Sound baths with UWEPO happen in yoga studios, private homes, outdoors, workplaces, and other welcoming spaces across Minneapolis and St. Paul.

The sounds wash over and through you—vibrations that speak directly to your nervous system, bypassing the thinking mind and inviting your body to release what it’s been holding. Many describe it as an inner massage, a chance to find stillness, and a healthy way to regulate stress and return to themselves.

You’ll settle into a comfortable chair or lie on a yoga mat with bolsters and a blanket, and I’ll invite you to find your most restful position. Then, for the next hour, you do nothing but receive.

UWEPO currently offers community, private, and organizational well-being sound baths. Community sound baths begin January 04, 2026 at Shakti Shala Yoga in Minneapolis.

My Approach

Science Meets Sound for True Transformation

I come to this work as a mother, community member, and a public health advocate with nearly 20 years of experience supporting individuals, families, and communities in their well-being. My background in psychology and community health education taught me to see the mind, body, and collective as one living system.

What makes my approach different is how I bridge evidence-based principles with the art ofsound wellness. I weave Polyvagal Theory and trauma-informed care into every session,creating environments where safety, grounding, and nervous system regulation are central.The sound isn’t just beautiful it’s intentionally designed to support the body’s shift fromsurvival to presence.

My core value is simple: everyone deserves a therapeutic, safe, accessible, and transformational experience one that guides you closer to your inner wisdom and enhances your capacity for well-being.
